My name is Herbie and I am a Shih Tzu who has been through some tough times. I am an older dog (I like to think of myself as mature) who was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. Due to an injury, I had to have my right eye removed but, thankfully, I am able to see just fine with my left. I have been told that I am “all heart.” Therefore, I guess it’s no surprise that I have been found to have a leaky heart valve. However, this only serves to make me more of the slow and steady kind of guy I already was.
Did I mention how sweet and loving I am? I would like nothing better than to spend my last years with a caring family. I am housebroken and great with other dogs, cats, and kids. I am quiet and ask for very little. I would be a great apartment dog but am content wherever I am as long as there is an empty lap nearby.
Herbie’s Quote: Don’t judge a book by its cover and don’t judge me until you meet me.
